Financial Services (GLBA/PCI)
GLBA & PCI - Controls Auditors Can Verify
Financial institutions face both privacy and payment risks. We deploy identity, network, and backup safeguards that you can display visually – then compile documentation for examiners and underwriters.
Control Mapping
Mapping controls to meet GLBA Safeguards and PCI DSS 4.0 standards.
Compliance Evidence
Documentation binder containing screenshots, logs, restoration verifications, and policy identifiers.
Restore Schedule
Quarterly clean‑restore drills with per‑system last‑clean dates.
Zero‑Trust Access & Least Privilege
The biggest hidden risk in financial systems is permanent access. Once access is granted, it lasts for months – even if the requirement is met. Wide VPN access to all environments, meaning an open highway to attackers. To control this, we implement a Zero-Trust model: Phishing-resistant MFA Just-In-Time (JIT) Privilege Elevation, and Vendor and Admin Activities Fully Recorded.
- For administrators and high-risk FIDO2/passkeys enforced; disabled legacy authentication.
- JIT admin access expires; approvals are recorded; shared accounts are prohibited.
- Bastion access for vendors includes session recording and replay capabilities.

Segmentation in Payments and Core Banking
Payment processing and core services deserve dedicated channels. We limit east‑west and egress, narrowing flows to only what business needs.
- Environments holding cardholder data are protected by default-deny policies that use explicit allow-lists.
- DNS filtering combined with egress allow-lists to disrupt C2/data exfiltration.
- SIEM-visible logs and alerts wired to runbooks.

Backup Immutability & Test‑Restores
Ransomware is increasingly targeting backups first. We apply WORM/object‑lock with key separation, and then validate restores in a landing zone prior to considering production cutover.
On-premises WORM NAS paired with cloud object lock; distinct identities assigned per tier.
Landing zone restores include malware/anomaly scans alongside hash checks.
Executive reports and drill trend lines for boards and carriers.
Frequently Asked Questions
The most critical factor is proof-based security – not just tools, auditable evidence, immutable backups and clean restore capability. That is, compliance is not written – it should be verified.
Because permanent access is the biggest weak spot in banks and credit networks. With zero-trust: Access is temporary, MFA is phishing-resistant, Admin/vendor actions are recorded. The scope of the breach is drastically reduced.
Permanent remote access is prohibited – all access is granted through just-in-time elevation. Session recording, approval workflows, and auto-revocation reduce the risk of insider/security breaches.
