Logistics & Transportation

Maintain Freight Flow - Minimize Lateral Movement

Logistics depends on uptime and synchronization. We separate TMS/WMS systems, divide telematics/IoT, and apply egress controls so a single phishing attempt doesn’t stop shipping.

TMS/WMS segments restricted to app-to-database connections only; default deny for east-west traffic.

Telematics/IoT VLANs with provider-exclusive egress, excluding general internet access.

Multi-factor authentication and device compliance are required for dispatch and yard operations.

Backups That Restore Under Pressure

If timelines are delayed, consequences accumulate. We use multi‑tier immutability and practice restores so the planning team has dependable ETAs for recovery.

  • Local rapid-recovery + unchangeable NAS; cloud object lock to ensure distance.
  • Restorations in the landing zone featuring malware scans and hash verifications.
  • Executive reports with RPO/RTO and last-clean dates by system.

Vendor & Carrier Integrations - Without Hidden Backdoors

Connections with partners are necessary and risky. We secure them via monitored bastions that require approvals and have expiration dates, so access serves business, not attackers.

  • Just-in-time access with session recording; permanent tunnels are not permitted without evaluation.
  • Allow-lists for DNS/outbound traffic limited to EDI/API endpoints exclusively.
  • Exceptions are reviewed weekly and set to expire.

Incident Comms for Customers & Regulators

If there is a security incident, only recovery will not help – If communication goes wrong, the damage can be huge. Customers panic, regulators impose penalties, and news trust is destroyed. That’s why we prepare communication that maintains trust, meets regulatory tone, and keeps teams focused on fixing the incident — not typing emails.

- Leadership summary rhythm; client updates with facts and ETAs.
- Proof binder to support claims and contract SLAs.
- Plan for post-incident reinforcement with owners and timelines.

Frequently Asked Questions

System separation prevents one compromised system from affecting another. If TMS is attacked, WMS or IoT operations can continue to run – freight flow does not stop.

IoT devices represent a common entry point of attack. Isolation reduces risk, lateral movement is slowed, and attackers are unable to capture the entire network from a single device.

We control vendor/carrier access through time-bound approvals and monitored Bastion servers. Access auto-expires, does not create a permanent backdoor.
